George Vrbanic first entered the world of fantasy gaming illustration in the late 1980s after being introduced to the game Dungeons and Dragons. He began doing drawings of players characters both at conventions and through the mail.

After placing an ad in Dragon magazine he was contacted by Jolly Blackburn, who was then starting Shadis Magazine. Jolly wanted to do a review on Infinite Images for Shadis #1. This first contact led to George doing the cover art for each of the following issues of the then digest size magazine, and Shadis' first full color cover. He also created the mascots Gameweaver and Shad for use throughout the magazine.

George has continued his friendship and work with Jolly on "Knights of the Dinner Table" (with his wife, Jackie doing the color), "Bundle of Trouble", and "Hacklopedia of Beast" covers. His work has appeared in such magazines as Polyhedron, Dungeon and Dragon and also game books like Aria by Last Unicorn, Legendary Journeys by Hekaforge and Kingdoms of Kalamar by Kenzer and Company.

As well as doing freelance work for both companies and individuals in the gaming field, George is currently working full time designing for an imprint company, whose customers include Budweiser, American Outpost, Disney and Coors Brewing Co.
